In My Own
Words

I have always been highly creative; I get so much enjoyment out of the entire artistic process and seeing the final outcome. What has always drawn me to photography is the possibility of producing timeless and captivating pieces of artwork. Capturing those truly special, one off moments in time that may never be repeated.

Although I have always loved taking photographs throughout my life. It was 2019 when I decided to follow my dream, turning fully professional and I haven’t looked back since.

I invested in my first DSLR camera, which is something that I had always wanted to do, ever since studying photography at A Level (all those years ago). Having been taught back then on a Pentax 35mm film camera, the DSLR opened up a whole new avenue of creativity. You can read more about my gear on Shotkit.

Family connection, emotion and expression are my favourite aspects of every shoot and they play an important role within my work. I adore the documentary “story telling” photographic style, capturing those in-between moments, those raw, heart-felt reactions that each individual family unit share.

Living and working in the wonderfully diverse settings and landscapes of Fleet, Hampshire are a continuous inspiration. Nature and the outdoors form a big part in the majority of my photoshoots. Even when shooting inside, I take advantage of any natural light to enhance my images.

I love to travel and always get excited when shooting anything abroad, experiencing different cultures and traditions. I never dreamt I would be lucky enough to call this my job.

Fully
Inclusive

When it comes to weddings, your gender, sexuality, or race, really doesn’t matter. As long as you are crazy about each other, then that’s all that matters to make magic happen. Being a mother to a teenager who is a part of the LGBTQ+ community, it is important to me that however you identify, I will proudly capture your wedding day and your celebration of love.

I am yet to photograph a LGBTQ+ wedding, but I am excited to offer wedding photography to all people no matter their gender, or sexuality and look forward to capturing my first one. Because love is love.

Award
Winning

Despite being a relatively newcomer, I’ve already been fortunate enough to win several awards for my photographic work. Most recently, I was shortlisted for the rather prestigous British Photography Awards for the picture shown below. I submitted this humorous, documentary style piece of Kirsty on her way to her wedding. Wine in hand, fag in mouth!

There were some fantastic photos submited this year and sadly I didn’t win this time. However, it was an honour just to be shortlisted. I also had to miss out on attending the award ceremony, as I was shooting my cousins wedding all the way up in Darlington, but we will see what 2023 brings.
